Project: The Business Growth Library

PROJECT: THE BUSINESS GROWTH LIBRARY

Progress Update: 5th September, 2011 – Copyright Licensing Limited (CLL) join the library project team to facilitate digital content licensing and rights negotiations with New Zealand based business title authors and publishers.

Progress update: A technology supplier has been selected for the publishing platform, and cloud based hosting facilities.

The proposed Business Growth Library (working title) is an online digital library service which provides SME with the latest and most relevant business focused book titles published in New Zealand and abroad.

As a digital library service, all book titles are delivered electronically, via the Internet, and can be read online in an Internet browser and/or eBook reader software, plus eBook Reader hardware such as the Amazon Kindle, Apple iPad, and Kobo eReader.

A ‘print on demand’ service will also be considered, which will provide the ability for the subscriber to select individual chapters from books for a fee, and bring them together into a single bound printed and personalised reference edition.

The service will also utilise social media to encourage discussion and to share insights for various subscriber selected topics, as well as book reviews and recommendations.

The subscriber funded library service will be delivered by a ‘best of breed’ cloud based content management and distribution system, allowing access at anytime, anywhere and to any hardware device, including smartphones, tablets, and android devices.

Expressions of interest are sought from parties involved in the areas of digital rights negotiation, business book publishing, reference title publishing for specific industry sectors, print on demand vendors, and expertise in digital library services.
